About
Bringing music, creativity and technology together
We believe in the power of music to inspire movement, energy, focus and joy. That’s why we created SchoolPlayer – a music app designed for teachers and educators in schools and early years settings, bringing together our passion for music, creativity and smart technology.
From record players to music streaming
Music has always played an important role in schools. From music lessons and PE to dance and everyday classroom activities. But the way we listen to and play music has changed dramatically over the years.
Record players gave way to cassette tapes, CDs and MiniDiscs. Then came MP3 players and iPods, followed by music streaming services that now put millions of songs at our fingertips.
The problem? Just because music is available to stream doesn’t mean it’s licensed for use in schools. Most popular streaming services are designed for personal listening, not for school educational activities.
We recognised this challenge – and wanted to do something about it.
A proven idea, reimagined for schools
Our experience in creating music services for specific environments began long before SchoolPlayer. In 2011, we launched FitnessPlayer, a music service designed specifically for the fitness industry. Group exercise instructors needed a modern way to discover, customise and play music during their classes, with licensing designed for public performance.
When we recognised a similar need in education, we built on the experience and technology behind FitnessPlayer. The result was SchoolPlayer – a dedicated music app where teachers and educators can discover music, create playlists and access practical tools in a service designed and licensed for schools.
The same idea. A whole new environment.
